Illustrated above, The Mill were asked to develop an AR scavenger hunt for Facebook’s 2018 F8 conference in San Jose. The effect utilized target AR capabilities, allowing attendees to dip into a secret dimension to solve puzzles and unlock a special reward for becoming AR-literate.
A 3D overlay sprang to life over a map printed on the back of each attendee’s badge, indicating areas of interest in the McEnery Convention Center for them to explore. Three total discoverable effects were spread through the Center for guests to interact with and share the “AR-tifacts” to their Stories, with a prize at the end to reward them for their curiosity.
